Green Vertus Savoy Cabbage is a hardy cabbage variety that produces a medium sized-head up to 20cm in diameter. Green Vertus Savoy Cabbage is easy to grow and is extremely cold tolerant. This cabbage variety is sweeter than Golden Acre Cabbage and is commonly used to make sauerkraut. Ensure the cabbage head is protected from caterpillars and aphids.

Brassica oleracea | 50 seeds per packet

Start seeds in trays in a protected area (indoors or inside a greenhouse), sowing seeds 6mm deep. Keep the soil moist. Best sown when temperatures are between 8 to 22°C, but can germinate with temperatures up to 30°C. Transplant seedling out when they have grown around 8 leaves. Leave 40 to 50cm between transplanted seedlings and approximately 50 to 70cm between rows of Green Vertus Savoy Cabbage. Germination occurs within 6 to 12 days, at an ideal temperature of 10 to 30°C. Green Vertus Savoy Cabbage reaches full maturity within 60 to 120 days.

Green Vertus Savoy Cabbage can be sown in early spring, late summer, autumn, or winter*. Avoid sowing when temperatures a high. Sow in late summer to harvest a winter crop or sow in autumn to harvest a spring crop.
